Westminster Business Council and David Miller Architects, in conjunction with Grosvenor, invite you to our Social Value business breakfast seminar: Discover how delivering Social Value can help you win more bids on construction projects on Tuesday 18 September, 2018.

Following on from our first breakfast seminar in May this year, the response and feedback was phenomenal - so many of you are engaging with Social Value and embedding this into the culture of your organisations and found our seminar both reassuring and inspiring.

Which is why we are staging a second seminar to deliver more Social Value education and demonstrate how this excellent work really does have commercial benefits and will provide a return on your social investment.

This breakfast event, sponsored by Grosvenor, will focus on the bidding and tender process for construction projects. Specifically looking at what clients are looking for, what individuals and organisations need to include and how to successfully complete the tender.

There will be five speakers, and also representatives from both Westminster Business Council and the sponsor Grosvenor


Carol Hustler, Director, TEDs Friend

TEDs Friend helps companies to find and win contract opportunities, bids and tenders. In this session, Carol will introduce you to what clients are looking for specifically and what they might ask you to provide as evidence of your social value delivery.

Greg Ward, Westminster City Council

Westminster City Council has many construction projects and requirements, and here Greg will tell us what they as a Local Authority require from their suppliers and contractors in terms of Social Value, both as a culture and how this impacts on their projects specifically.

Snowia Hussain, Westminster City Council and

Fiona Clark, Practice Director, David Miller Architects

Delivering a joint presentation based on the Parsons North project, Snowia will begin with what they required specifically on this project and Fiona will demonstrate their deliverables.

From the council’s perspective when they are procuring, they have very specific requirements and Snowia will share these with us.

Fiona will continue to discuss the Parsons North project as an example on how these requirements are met.

John Reid, Director of Project Management - Estate Development Programme, Grosvenor

As a client and leading developer, we will hear from John on what social value means to them as a company and what they expect from their suppliers.

Katie Hayes, CR Manager for London South East, Bouygues UK

As a Tier 1 contractor, Katie will tell us what Bouygues firstly offers their clients and secondly what they expect from their supply chain.

After our speakers, we will be hosting a short round table engagement session, where delegates will have the opportunity to interact directly with the speakers, plus share their own Social Value policies and processes and learn how to make them work as evidence to their advantage.
