What is CompeteFor?
CompeteFor is a free website that allows the business community to compete for contract opportunities generated by major buying organisations including central and local government. It began as a brokerage service for the 2012 Games to match potential suppliers and buyers. The website is now being used by Westminster City Council to help local businesses to win public sector business and sub-contracts within its supply chains.
Any business can register on CompeteFor free of charge to access thousands of direct, indirect and service related opportunities linked to numerous buyers from both the public and private sectors. In addition to local contracts with Westminster City Council, registered businesses also have access to supply chain opportunities from London 2012, the London Development Agency and other local authorities.

What types of contracts will be advertised on CompeteFor?
Westminster City Council will use CompeteFor to advertise direct contracts from all departments within the council, from social services to housing to parking and corporate procurement.
Furthermore, all existing contractors and suppliers of Westminster City Council will be encouraged to use CompeteFor to advertise subsequent supply chain opportunities. As a result thousands of contracts, ranging in size and industry, will be available for local SMEs. Businesses only have to register once to access these opportunities.
Supporting Westminster businesses
Westminster Business Council is working closely with CompeteFor to ensure that local SMEs have access to these opportunities. Please contact Elizabeth Crowther-Hunt E.Crowther-Hunt@westminsterbc.org.uk for support registering and accessing opportunities on CompeteFor.
